This is how I was 7 years ago with 95 kgs of body weight. I was depressed and suffered from low self-esteem. Since I had a graduate degree in nutrition and biochemistry and masters in biochemistry, I created my own diet plan. We used to create meal plans in our nutrition labs. Little did I know that at time, that I had to create a weight loss chart for myself. So, I created a diet chart for me, followed it, walked for 1-2 hours a day. In a span of 6 to 10 months, I lost the first 23 kgs of body weight. Then, I hit a plateau. When I was at 72 Kgs of body weight, my weight did not go down no matter what I did. I kept trying, learning, researching and updating myself. I finally broke the plateau and went to 65 kgs of body weight. Keto and Intermittent fasting helped me further lose weight. I am currently between 63 and 64 kgs and losing weight in a steady way. In my 7 years of journey, I have learnt that weight loss is more than diet and workout. There are so many factors that play and important role in weight loss. Diet is just a small piece of the puzzle. The bigger pieces are hormones, nutritional imbalances, food allergies/intolerance and so on. I was able to lose the first few kgs with a strict diet. To be able to maintain my weight or to lose more weight, I had to understand all these other factors and balance them to achieve permanent results. In this channel, I freely share with you all these details that I learnt throughout these 7 years – diet plans, workouts, keto, intermittent fasting, research information, tips and tricks and so on. When my thyroid levels are out of balance, I was unable to lose weight no matter how hard I tried. Only after I adjusted the dosage of my thyroid meds, I was able to resume my weight loss journey. I think you learnt an important secret: the reason for your struggle is that your hormones are out of balance and are blocking you from losing your body fat/weight. The biggest mistake we all make is to jump into a diet or join the gym if we want to lose weight. Our body is more complex to only factor a diet change or a new workout routine. Out body’s biochemistry involves a lots of hormones and cycles. After knowing all this, if you then start a diet or a workout routine, it will give you permanent weight loss.
