We all have the right to be safe and to
live a life free from harm. At certain times in our lives we might need help and support to do this. Safeguarding is how we are protected
from harm, but safeguarding is about more than this. It is about promoting our
health and wellbeing, our rights and it is about being empowered to make
decisions for ourselves. Harm can come in many forms and it affects people
differently. But harm always impacts on the rights we are all entitled to enjoy Some of the rights that we might need
help with are the right to be safe, the right to privacy, the right to be treated with dignity and respect, the right to be involved in decisions about our lives, the right to
live free from abuse and exploitation. We all have a part to play in protecting
