Hello I’m Mami Tsang, I’m the owner of Chi Yu Wellness Centre and complementary therapy practitioner. In this video, I’m going to
introduce Reflexology and Eastern Foot massage. Reflexology is an ancient healing therapy
based on the theory that different reflex areas on the feet, hands, face are corresponded with specific organs or the different areas of the body, which is directly through the
nervous system. The feet are considered as a small map of your whole body.
Eastern Foot Massage is similar to the Reflexology. Specific acupressure points and meridians located on the feet are stimulated to encourage the natural flow of energy known as Qi, so
that it helps the body to restore its balance naturally. Both Reflexology and Eastern Foot Massage promote healing by stimulating nervous system, encouraging blood circulation and eliminating function of the body. In the process, it helps to promote relaxation, reduce the pain and symptoms as well as improving overall well-being. During the session you’ll be comfortably
lying on the couch and sometimes in a reclined position. Reflexology is mostly applied on the feet, however, it can be performed on the face or hands in situations where sessions on the feet are not practical. After the treatment, most people feel a sense of well-being and relaxation, however, sometimes you might feel tired or lethargic but it is part of the healing process. So, we always advise our clients to keep hydrated throughout the day as well as avoiding any vigorous activity, consuming alcohol or caffeine after the treatment.
